Symptoms of Thrush

For those who have a weakened immune system or whose bodies cannot find a balance of healthy microorganisms, they may find themselves with oral thrush, otherwise known as the fungus bacteria, candida. Although oral thrush is most commonly found in babies (who have yet to develop a full strength immune system), it is also found in both healthy children and adults as well.
Symptoms of having oral thrush
Some of the most common symptoms of oral thrush are the display of a white coating covering the gums, roof of the mouth, tongue, tonsils and sometimes the back of the throat of the infected's mouth in addition to having pain or some difficulty while trying to swallow. Additionally, having a fever is possible with thrush if the bacterial infection has already spread lower than the esophagus in the back of the throat.
Treatments of oral thrush
Some of the treatments of oral thrush include eating unsweetened yogurt for healthy adults and children and also taking antifungal medications (which are also recommended for adults with a weakened immune system and babies who have oral thrush).
For anyone who is experiencing oral thrush, it is important to begin treatment right away for the quickest solution to eliminating the bacterial infection without it spreading to additional parts of the body. Without treatment, the oral thrush infection often worsens, causing an even thicker white coat throughout the mouth, additional pain and a wider infection all the way down the entire throat of the person infected.
